James — Introduction

^{0 !} James the Apostle and sonne of Alpheus wrote this Epistle to the Jewes which were conuerted to Christ, but dispersed throughout diuers countries, and therefore he exhorteth them to patience and prayer, to embrace the true worde of God, & not to be partial, nether to boast of an ydle faith, but to declare a true faith by liuelie frutes, to auoide ambition, to bridel the tongue, to rule the affections, to be humble & loue their neighbours, to be ware of swearing, to vtter their fautes when they haue offended, to praye one for another, and to bring him which is out of the way, to the knowledge of Christ.
